Dr. Firas Younis is a European-trained Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon at King’s College Hospital London – Dubai, with extensive experience in general and colorectal surgery, including laparoscopic and open procedures.
Dr. Firas graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed his specialist training in General and Colorectal Surgery in East Anglia and Cambridge, UK, where he obtained his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). He was awarded the Intercollegiate Fellowship (FRCSI) in General Surgery, with a specialist focus in Colorectal Surgery.
He later completed a post-CCT Fellowship in Laparoscopic and Open Colorectal Surgery at North Shore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, gaining further experience in complex colorectal and pelvic floor procedures.
His clinical expertise includes colorectal oncology, inflammatory bowel disease, pouch reconstruction, diverticular disease, pelvic floor surgery, and a range of general surgical procedures. Dr. Firas holds JAG accreditation in Endoscopy and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including colonoscopy and gastroscopy. He is also a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
For suitable cases, Dr. Firas uses robot-assisted surgery with the Da Vinci Xi and Da Vinci 5 systems for endometriosis, colorectal, and general surgery. He also performs laparoscopic and open procedures, with the surgical approach determined by the individual procedure and patient’s needs.
