Dr Rehan Saif

Professional Profile

Dr Rehan Saif is a UK-trained hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgeon and abdominal multi-organ transplantologist with over 13 years of higher surgical training in the UK. He has experience in multi-organ transplantation involving both deceased and living donors.

Throughout his career, Dr Rehan has been involved in hundreds of major transplant programmes, including around 400 liver, 300 kidney, and 50 pancreas transplants, as well as complex multi-organ transplant cases. He has also contributed to establishing a dedicated HPB unit and a Transplant Unit in Abu Dhabi.

Dr Rehan completed his MBBS and MS before moving to the UK, where he obtained his MRCS, FRCS, and CCT, along with FEBS (HPB Surgery) and the European Diploma in Transplantation (HESPERIS). His advanced surgical training includes fellowships in minimally invasive HPB surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago, with a focus on robotic HPB surgery, and in transplantation at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

For suitable general surgery cases, Dr Rehan uses the Da Vinci Xi and Da Vinci 5 robotic systems. Robotic surgery can support precise dissection and surgical control in selected procedures, depending on the patient’s condition and individual surgical requirements.
